Enhanced Vision System provides additional awareness during night flying

The Max-Viz-600 is a real-time infrared Enhanced Vision System by Astronics. According to Eric Nickelson, chief flight instructor with Cessna Employees' Flying Club, the equipment helps pilots to see better at night and in bad weather conditions. Bodies of water show up as black areas on the cockpit display, and also makes it possible to see livestock in a field, wildlife on a runway or the outline of a mountain.
