Transfusion method improves success of limb reattachment

Plastic surgeon Bardia Amirlak, an assistant professor at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, transfused blood directly from a patient's leg to his severed arm to keep oxygen flowing until reattachment surgery could be completed. The patient has regained function and sensation in the arm.
