Pa. student's research project leads teacher to seek historical marker

Eighth-grader Dylan Haney's history research project has uncovered details of a little-known massacre that is believed to have taken place before Pontiac's Rebellion in 1763 -- a discovery that has prompted Belle Vernon Area Middle School history teacher Ross Farmer to seek a sign for the site of the event. Haney's research into the Delaware Indian massacre of Col. William Clapham and four others will be used as documentation to support the application, which will be submitted to the Pennsylvania Historical Marker Program.
