Authorities arrest New Jersey man in laser case

Federal prosecutors charged a New Jersey man with interfering with the operator of a mass transit vehicle for shining a laser into the cockpits of a helicopter and a small jet. Authorities said the arrest of David Banach, 38, should make the point that harmless mischief involving airplanes can put lives at risk. Banach's attorney said he would plead not guilty and never intended to shine his laser, which he ordered online, at the aircraft.
