EPA: Chesapeake Bay cleanup likely won't meet deadline

The cleanup of the Mid-Atlantic region's Chesapeake Bay likely won't come close to meeting the 2010 government deadline and may take decades longer, according to the EPA. Environmentalists said the news was no surprise, and added they have warned that roads and development in the watershed were growing too fast, while cleanup efforts at farms and sewage plants were dragging.
