Northwest agrees to buy Mesaba in stock deal

Northwest Airlines has agreed to purchase Mesaba Airlines. Mesaba's creditors committee filed a court motion to support the proposed stock deal, and Northwest's board will meet Wednesday to vote on it. Northwest says the transaction would lock in Mesaba's current flight operations and position it for growth.
