Display ads now part of NYT's front-page mix

The New York Times, in a decision reportedly fueled by its biggest sales slowdown since the Great Depression, has joined the ranks of newspapers offering regular front-page display ads. The Times, which is kicking off the program with an ad in today's paper for CBS, joins the ranks of other top U.S. papers with such ads, including The Los Angeles Times, USA TODAY and The Wall Street Journal.
