When she was just 14, Marin Morrison missed making the 2004 U.S. Olympic swim team by just 1.5 seconds. She was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2005 and was partially paralyzed by surgery to remove the tumor but kept swimming and competed in the 2008 Beijing Paralympics despite her worsening health. She died Friday. "Her lifelong dream was to swim in Beijing," said her father, Matt Morrison. "And she made it happen for herself."
