Premature birth may raise risk of mental health problems

A study of more than 545,000 Swedish residents suggests premature babies may grow up with a heightened risk for anxiety, depression or other psychiatric disorders. People born very prematurely -- at between 24 and 32 weeks -- had a 68% higher chance of mental health problems. The rates fell to 21% for those born moderately preterm and to 8% for those who arrived a couple of weeks early.
