Schools look to implement 21st-century skills programs

As President-elect Barack Obama calls for a "21st-century education system," schools are interpreting that goal in different ways -- from focusing on technology education to forming Lego engineering clubs in elementary schools. The next high school built in Charles County, Md., will feature a digital classroom, and Arlington County, Va., officials will use a state grant to build the Governor's Career and Technical Academy, where students can focus on science, technology, engineering and math.
