ATA: New security rules more effective, more convenient:

U.S. airlines noted no major delays on Monday as airports around the world adjusted to new TSA requirements for stepped-up screening of passengers from 14 countries. "We believe [the new measures] enhance security for the flying public, and they're being implemented in the most convenient manner," said a spokesman for the Air Transport Association. Airlines hope the rules will alleviate the confusion and delays caused by earlier reactions to a Christmas Day bombing attempt against a U.S. aircraft.
