Biopharma firms pick Boston area to house production plants

Biopharmaceutical companies are spending $2.3 billion to develop manufacturing facilities in the Boston area to capitalize on the region's research and production opportunities. Bristol-Myers Squibb established a $750 million production and office complex near Cambridge, Mass., while Genzyme set up a $300 million facility in Framingham, Mass.
