AA committed to Direct Connect, hopeful for Orbitz, Expedia deal

American Airlines is publicly reporting that online and traditional travel agencies have signed up for AA Direct Connect in the U.S., Europe and Asia, and the airline says these companies are in various stages of integrating AA Direct Connect for their customers. Tnooz was able to reach a handful of 18 companies identified as AA Direct Connect Providers, and two have publicly indicated they are using American's direct connect. "Ultimately we will see all travel agency volume going through Direct Connect," said Cory Garner, American's director of distribution strategies. American says it is in "active discussions" with Orbitz and Expedia to resume selling its flights.
