Fairfax County, Va., teachers say a new online tool for tracking students' testing data has increased their workload and is taking away from instructional time. The teachers, who plan to share their concerns with the school board, also are encouraged to post their lesson plans online to share with fellow teachers. "They're spending their class time with machines and not with children. ... It's a dehumanization of the profession," said one teacher/union leader.
