Fla. county hosts pet amnesty day

Palm Beach County, Fla., is hosting its first pet amnesty day to stem the growing problem of nonnative species in South Florida. "This is becoming our No. 1 problem here in Florida, and one of the ways we're trying to resolve this issue is by letting pet owners turn in their pets instead of letting them loose," said Lisa Jameson, an invasive species biologist for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.
