Winston Churchill wasn't a naturally gifted orator, but overcame his shortcomings by using explicit declarations to guide and inspire the British people, writes Lyn Boyer. Confidently setting out simple, explicit expectations such as "we shall never surrender" allowed Churchill to unite and inspire a wartime population, Boyer writes.
