How much of Iowa TV ad billings went to cable?

Republican presidential candidates and super PACs dedicated 15% to 20% of their $12.5 million spend on TV ads in Iowa to cable, according to cable spot rep agency NCC Media. With the final tally not yet computed, cable's take is estimated at $1.9 million to $3.1 million. Political buyers most often wanted to buy time on Fox News, MSNBC and CNN, which sold out quickly, so NCC offered alternative "Smart Plans" to help candidates target voters and news junkies through other cable channels.
