Amazon service brings efficiency to Kindles in schools

Since October 2012, Amazon has offered the Whispercast service to schools and businesses -- allowing them to manage multiple Kindle e-readers from a central, online location. School technology leaders say the service has helped speed up processes and procedures, making the use of Kindles more efficient in the classroom. An official with one Florida district said he manages 3,400 Kindle accounts using Whispercast and is able to purchase electronic books for the devices with ease.
