Colorado sees growth in language immersion programs

Global Village Academy -- a language immersion school that launched in Aurora, Colo., six years ago -- has expanded to four campuses with a fifth location slated to open in 2015. Students enrolled in the charter school spend about 95% of their day learning core subjects in a second language, including Mandarin, Spanish and German, depending on community needs. Many of the teachers in the programs are native speakers.
