Mo. community college trims part-time instructor hours

Missouri's Ozarks Technical Community College is limiting the number of credit hours its part-time instructors can teach. The move prevents adjuncts from teaching 30 or more hours per week, which would trigger health care benefits under the Affordable Care Act. The college's retirement fund also counts full-time employees as those working 20 hours per week or more. Under the new rules, adjuncts will be allowed to teach no more than 24 credit hours per year.
