Older workers don't cost jobs for young people, economists say

Young people shouldn't worry they miss out on jobs and advancement opportunities when older colleagues put off retirement, economists say. "We all cannot believe that we have been fighting this theory for more than 150 years," said April Yanyuan Wu, an economist at Boston College. The misconception stems from the incorrect idea there a fixed number of jobs in the workforce.
