Test to give indication of cow's origin

While no test can give absolute proof of the BSE-infected cow's place of birth, the DNA tests expected this week will give a "strong indication" of its origin, now thought to be Canada. Administration officials hope the findings will allow a fast end to import bans imposed by other countries in the wake of the discovery of the infected cow.
