NTSB chief says lobbying hinders accident investigations

The National Transportation Safety Board said lobbying and lawsuits have the potential to taint the board's accident investigations by providing investigators with irrelevant information. Chairwoman Ellen Engleman Conners said investigators were heavily lobbied during their probe of the crash of American Airlines Flight 587.
