Boeing sets record of 1,002 orders booked in 2005

Boeing booked a record of 1,002 net airplane orders during 2005. The company likely booked more orders than its European rival Airbus. Boeing's previous record was 877 orders, set in 1988. Airbus and Boeing benefited in 2005 from strong demand in Asia.
