Green building methods score high at Oregon schools

Green school design is making headway toward reducing energy costs in the Northwest. Grants and tax credits are giving the movement an added push to make green design more affordable, and designers are employing methods such as clerestory windows to reduce the need for artificial lighting and using groundwater for heating or cooling.
