Diabetes care may present challenges for nursing homes

Nursing homes may not be able to deal with an expected influx of seniors with diabetes, experts warn. Research shows up to 25% of nursing home residents have diabetes and about 67% of them met long-term glucose control goals. Experts say one main challenge in managing diabetes in a nursing home setting is that there are usually other primary medical conditions.
