Hawaii insurer offers telemedicine option to remote islands

Patients in Hawaii soon will have access to telemedicine services from American Well, a company that connects patients and providers through a Web portal that is sponsored by participating health plans' Web sites. The Hawaii Medical Service Association will make the service available to anyone on the island state, including uninsured patients, who are eligible to use the service for an additional fee.
