Report: Bay Area roads rated "fair" but need extensive repairs

A report found that the roads in the San Francisco Bay Area are in "fair" condition, an improvement from two years ago. However, the Metropolitan Transportation Commission's report also found that the typical street has serious degradation and needs extensive rehabilitation. Just 12% of the region's 42,000 miles of street and road lanes are in excellent condition, according to the report.
