Taliban forbids girls from attending school in parts of Pakistan

Taliban militants have forbidden girls in parts of Pakistan from attending school at a time when girls already have been scared away from classrooms by ongoing attacks and verbal criticism of female education from political leaders. In a recent radio address, a Taliban leader said girls will no longer be able to attend school beginning 15 Jan., saying female education is "un-Islamic".
