Advocates: California high-speed rail project would bring 600,000 jobs

Despite estimates of higher costs, supporters of California's proposed high-speed rail network say some 600,000 construction jobs will be created when the project begins. "Only one out of every four dollars Californians are putting up, but... 100% of the jobs will be here," said Jeff Barker, deputy executive director of the state's High Speed Rail Authority.
