Canadian government orders study on biofuel production's impact

Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper wants a study on the effects of biofuel production on the environment and health amid reports that renewable fuels were associated with such concerns in other countries. "The commissioning of this study does not presuppose that there are any harmful effects from these facilities, nor does it change the government of Canada's commitment to renewable fuels," said Paula Franchellini of Environment Canada.
