Census Bureau goes social to boost participation

The Census Bureau hopes to harness Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to persuade people to participate in this year's population count. The bureau will use the tools as part of a campaign that will also include an 800-stop publicity tour. "We are trying to take the census from an abstract concept to something tangible so people can see what the census is and why it's important," says Regional Director James T. Christy.
