Economists fret over government response to crisis

Economists who gathered at the American Economic Association's annual meeting said governments have not made necessary repairs to the financial industry to keep another crisis from happening. Elsewhere, economists also have expressed concern that Congress may give itself power to review interest rate decisions by the Federal Reserve, thereby politicizing monetary policy-setting.
