Sources: Power struggle pushed Japan's finance chief to quit

The resignation of Japanese Finance Minister Hirohisa Fujii was driven not by his health problems but by his frustration with Ichiro Ozawa, secretary-general of the Democratic Party of Japan, sources said. Ozawa created the strategy that brought the party to power after five decades as an outsider, giving him considerable influence. Fujii became frustrated with Ozawa's power over Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, the sources said.
