Survey shows hospitals aren't prepared for meaningful use of EHRs

Two-thirds of the 58 hospitals surveyed by Computer Sciences in fall 2009 have reported gaps in their electronic health record systems concerning meaningful use compliance, and only one-quarter have achieved at least 70% of the readiness measures. The survey also found that the hospitals generally had the highest scores for privacy and security measures and the lowest scores in areas relating to EHR use.
