Teachers win rights to books, plays created in free time

A Florida teacher has successfully lobbied for a change to a proposed policy he says infringed on his rights. Under the proposal, Pasco County schools would have owned the rights to books, plays and other creative material that teachers developed outside of the school day. School officials say they will rewrite the policy to ensure that teachers can maintain ownership of work done on their own time.
