FDA approved more drugs in 2011 than in 2010

Better communication between drugmakers and the FDA led to more drug approvals last year. The FDA approved 30 new drugs in 2011, compared with 21 the year before. Advance consultations on the FDA's data requirements are bearing fruit, according to pharmaceutical analysts and executives.
