Forecast: SMBs to account for a quarter of social spending by 2016

Small- to medium-sized businesses are getting serious about social media, according to a Borrell Associates report, and could account for almost a quarter of total spending on social media marketing by 2016. The research group expects local social media spending to boom from $1.1 billion in 2011 to $7.8 billion in 2016.
