European airlines are bolstering premium service to differentiate themselves from low-cost airlines. The new strategy also involves improving business class with amenities such as flatbed seats. "[Flat-bed seats are] a cheaper option for corporate clients who can head straight to a business meeting without spending a few hours of freshening up at a hotel," Marilyn Gerlach writes.
