High-density concrete key to building Mayo Clinic's Ariz. facility

Work is progressing on the Mayo Clinic's 23-acre proton beam therapy facility in Arizona. The project has used 38,000 cubic yards of high-density concrete for its walls, which are 6 feet to 12 feet thick to contain the intense energy levels from the beam that will be used for treatments. The project is designed to reach 15 stories eventually.
