Adding macronutrients to parenteral nutrition may boost growth

Adding macronutrients to standard parenteral nutrition was associated with increased head growth in infants born at less than 29 weeks gestation in a controlled study, U.K. researchers reported in the journal Pediatrics. The study team said the differences may persist at discharge, even after parenteral nutrition has been discontinued.
