Distilling in Dallas grows slowly

Austin, Texas, is tops in Texas for its distilling efforts, but the Dallas area has entered the market with small steps such as bourbon from Fort Worth and single-malt whiskey from Garland. The market has room to grow with distributors wanting local tastes and deals that bring niche creations to the mainstream. "It's more a drive to source things locally and be Texas-proud," said Laurent Spamer of Witherspoon Distillery.
