Marketo seen as next cloud acquisition target

Marketing automation software provider Marketo looks to be ripe for acquisition, Brooke Sutherland writes. Marketo's ad tracking platform might seem attractive to large software companies looking to expand their cloud offerings. "Marketing software, there is definitely some hype around it, but there's also validity to it being a really important category that enterprise software companies have to have," Raymond James analyst Terry Tillman said.
