Opinion: Obama turning back the clock on space missions

The Obama administration's cuts to the space budget are leaving a legacy of depleted exploration and diminished planetary research, writes Mark Sykes, CEO and director of the Planetary Science Institute. "Under current administration plans, the U.S. footprint in the solar system will radically shrink, and the nation's capability to resurge when, and if, resources become available will be crippled, perhaps permanently," Sykes writes.
