Opinion: Stereotypes infiltrate news stories about businesswomen

Various stereotypes and biases tend to creep into news coverage about successful women such as Mary Barra, who was promoted to the CEO post at General Motors, writes Naomi Wolf, author of "Vagina: A New Biography." In some cases, stories may suggest that a woman's success is due to luck or dependent on male relatives. "If all else fails, coverage concentrates so narrowly on gender that a woman's very leadership is weakened," Wolf writes.
