Pilot program helps some N.C. schools curb childhood obesity

A pilot program used in some elementary schools in North Carolina helped 67% of participating students lower their body mass index during the initial rollout. During the eight-week program, students' height and weight are assessed and they engage in fitness activities such as pedometer challenges and dance exercises.
