Textron says Beechcraft will retain brand identity, top leadership

Textron is set to acquire Beechcraft in a $1.4 billion deal in the middle of this year. The move will bring together Beechcraft and Cessna Aircraft, two of the oldest names in general aviation manufacturing, but Textron says the brands will remain separate, including maintaining the top leadership at both companies. However, with the Hawker jet line closed, Textron Chairman and CEO Scott Donnelly said there is an opportunity to move customers into Cessna Citation aircraft.
