Scientists find new source of stem cells

Scientists found that "amniotic fluid-derived stem cells," which are shed by the developing fetus, have many of the same traits as embryonic stem cells. The researchers report the cells are easily retrieved, easier to maintain in a laboratory than embryonic stem cells, grow quickly and can become many kinds of tissues.
