San Francisco pastry chef likes being his own boss

Dominique Delanghe might have been a hair stylist if he had been faster applying for his first job, but now he is content with his lot in life -- waving at passers-by from the window of his shop in San Francisco, Patisserie Delanghe. One of Delanghe's signature dishes is St. Honore, the traditional French cake concocted of sponge cake, hot caramel-covered puff pastry and cream, in a nontraditional shape.
