Texas spending on water projects could hit $1.8B in fiscal '08

Spending for water projects in Texas could increase to as much as $1.8 billion in fiscal 2008, compared to about $1.77 billion for 2007. The state is due to receive about $1.08 billion for water projects in fiscal 2008 under the 2007 Water Resources Development Act, which was approved by lawmakers overriding a veto by President George W. Bush.
